Gama Trade Show – Top 3 Games

|
Category:

This year’s Gama Trade Show took place around a month ago with many exciting new game releases and announcements about future game releases. With so many great games coming out I could easily have a top 10 or even 25 of games that I`m excited about, but I preferred to narrow down the list to the top three games that got me dancing on my chair.

Planet of the Apes

Designer: Richard Launius
Publisher: IDW Games
Players: 1-4
Playing Time: 60-90 Min.
There is not too much information about the game yet but from the moment that the sound of its name got into my ears, I couldn`t hold myself! IDW Games have many great IPs under their name and this one makes no difference. Adding Richard Launius on the mix and you have my full attention. Best known for “Arkham Horror” and “Defenders of the Realm” Mr. Launius is one of the best to deliver a cooperative and extremely thematic adventure. Players take control of single person in the story, being the different aspects of his consciousness. The game seems to cover the original series and can also be played solo.

Arena: For the Gods!

Designer: Maxime Rambourg
Publisher: IELLO
Players: 2-6
Playing Time: 30-40 Min.
Age: 8+
The theme won me on this one, along with the extraordinary art and overall aesthetics that IELLO provides. Heroes from six different mythos fight to please their Gods. After a single death, the Gods are pleased and the fighter with the most remaining life points is the winner.
The most interesting aspect of the game for me is that it plays in two distinct phases, a preparation(auction) and a fighting one. In particular, the first phase, in which you are bidding for your weapon, mount, armor and spell card (one of each, on that order), with currency being your LIFE POINTS! The fighting includes my favourite element, dice, which are used for special actions offered by your cards or default ones.
Get ready to fight into the Arena around June! Yeeees.

Adrenaline Expansion

Publisher: CGE
Players: 2-6
Adrenaline has been one of my most played games lately, rising to the top of my list. Thus, the expansion that I was waiting for is more real than ever! A sixth player will be added and a team play mode will be available. Matches of 2vs2 or 3vs3 with teamwork orientated objectives, rather than the classic area control. In addition, unique starting weapons will be added to each different character of the game! Can I even ask for more?
If everything goes as planned (let’s hope so), it will be released at Essen Spiel 2017!

Which game are YOU excited about?! Let us know in the comments below.
