Moonshot: Lunar Solace – Space Race

|
Category: Age: 12+ 30 - 60 Min 2 - 4 Players 2017

This is the year 2142. The great civil war that took place in the 21st century, left the Earth heavily damaged and the divided people of it without a home. Five private organizations funded a program which allowed people to design and build settlements on the moon. Every year, an anniversary of the settlement’s completion is celebrated, during which each of the remaining factions sends a fleet of specially engineered jump ships to the annual Moonshot Race. The faction that achieves victory, earns the right to govern the planet until the next competition takes place.

You are in control of four ships and you are attempting to race around the solar system and back to the moon. Of course, at the same time you will have to face your opponents who will do their best in order to stop you or send you back home.

On your turn, you roll a set of four dice and depending on the combination that you roll, you may have to move one of your ships forward or backwards. If you land on a space with another of your ships, they become linked and move as one. However, if you land on a space shared by an opponent, their ship is knocked off the board and must start the race all over again.

There are the Solace cards which give you special powers and can either protect you or sabotage an opponent at the right moment. Moreover, there are wormholes that send you back and forth across the universe, whether it is to your advantage or not.

Moonshot: Lunar Solace is a fast-paced dice-driven game, in which developing a light strategy is enough. It is a game that will appeal to all kinds of gamers and it can offer a lot of player interaction and fun dice rolling.

Moonshot: Lunar Solace has been launched on Kickstarter and it has been planned for release in 2017.
