Category: Age: 12+ 120 - 180 Min 1 - 4 Players 2018

Destiny Horizons launched an interesting and unique campaign, combining “Destiny Aurora’s” Graphic Novel and tabletop miniatures game both set in the same immersive universe. The board game already had a quite successful campaign one year ago but it will be available for purchase through this campaign. The main focus of the campaign is the signed Graphic Novel which combines Issues #1, #2 and #3 for a total of 70 pages. It will be available only through this campaign, so read on!

Theme
You will dive into a sci-fi action world inspired by classics like Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Trek and Star Wars, following the adventures of the Coalition ship, Destiny Aurora. That means a story filled with thrills, mystery, deep characters and twists!
The story revolves around Jayce Carver, a broken man, in a revenge journey as his wife was assassinated some years ago while he was unable to protect her. This is the ship’s commander and every other crew member has a unique background and element to add to the story. You have the change to explore this universe through multiple mediums: books, novels, and the board game, for a full experience of the saga.

Game
Goal:
The goal of each game is depicted on the mission you will be playing. There are 16 available missions in the game, each completely different and with enough random elements to be repeated and still feel different. You can also choose to go through the campaign mode, following three unique campaigns.

The game can be played up to 4 players, supporting solo vs AI. When you start a game, you will have to choose between the two factions, the Renegade and the Coalition. These are like the Villain(Renegade) Vs Hero(Coalition) sides that will go against each other in each unique mission. Your crew consists of a Commander, a Pilot, an Engineer, a Weapons Expert and a Communications Officer/Medic, but one may do the other’s job if things come to that!

An interesting aspect of the game is that it supports space and ground battle at the same time so you will have to manage your crew properly and play to their advantages. Each member card is double sided to depict their different stats inside the ship and on the ground adding to the strategic choices.
The ground and space boards are created from 9 unique tiles adding to the replay value and possible layouts, many depicted by the missions. You will have epic fights with both your enemies and deadly creatures. You will have to adapt and enjoy the story that will unfold before you. The game also contains a ton of components with 24 unique miniatures (no duplicates) being part of them.

There are several pledges to choose from depending on how deep you want to go into the story. Having a highly thematic game supported by such content adds a lot to the value and overall experience. Also, the books were out before the board game was made so this is not a sloppy addition to make the story seem deeper. If you like sci-fi and want to experience a rich story through intense battles check out Destiny Aurora’s campaign!
