Bethel Woods, an orphanage standing in the green woodlands of the Alpine Slopes, had once been explored by some young, creative minds. However, an ominous force has emerged and now, Bethel Woods is nothing more than a thing of the past. Yet, there is a glimmer of hope, since a group of young people has come back to finish the work that was started a long time ago. Their goal is to repair the machines that have been scattered throughout the forest, before the ominous force finds them and uses that technology in order to exterminate the world.

Your goal in Bethel Woods is to work together so as to move six workers with the knowledge needed into the orphanage to construct the Daydreamer and save Bethel Woods. During their turn, players must pick up all workers from one of the six machines surrounding Bethel Woods and must drop one worker on each adjacent machine. As workers are placed, players may fix malfunctions of that worker’s type. At the same time, some spies are sneaking around trying to sabotage the machines. For that reason, players can use the last placed worker to uncover one of the spies.

After each player’s turn, three malfunctions are added to the board. If a machine has more than three malfunctions, it goes into a critical state. Moreover, each turn a machine goes critical, a new spy is also added to the board, which may make things even worse for the machines.

Players lose the game if four machines have gone critical at the end of any player’s turn or there are six spies on the board. Furthermore, they lose if there are no malfunctions left in the supply when placing them.

Bethel Woods is a cooperative science fiction game, which is set in the universe of “Hours”, a story created by Jessy Ribordy of Falling Up. It has been running on Kickstarter and is expected to be sent out before the end of April 2017.
