Goths Save the Queen! Oh, Goth!
In Goths Save the Queen, two 2-player teams (or 3 and 4-player teams using multiple copies of the game) fight in order to save the Queen, who is hidden somewhere in the middle of the table. In a 2-player team, each one takes a different role. One player is the King giving orders and the other player is the warchief, who has to understand which order has been given.
To give an order, the King chooses a card and flips it onto the table to reveal two orders on its back, having no clue about which one is the right one. The warchief checks the battlefield and then tries to choose the right order using a card from his hand. When both teams have chosen their cards, they are all revealed and if both cards match on a team, then the order is carried out. The orders might be about loading the catapult, firing with it, progressing towards the Queen, looking at hidden cards to find the Queen, avoiding traps and things like that…
As you can imagine, the players within a team cannot speak to each other or make any sign, so the second player has no help when trying to guess the card that has been played!
