The Nobles of the Italian Renaissance in Lorenzo il Magnifico

Category: Age: 12+ 60 - 120 Min 2 - 4 Players 2016

You are the heads of noble families during the Italian Renaissance competing against each other in order to gain prestige and fame in the city.

Your family members are here to help you and they are willing to visit different areas of the city and act to the family’s benefit. Each one of them has different value, which you determine by rolling dice at the beginning of each round. You should choose wisely where to send each member, since those of a higher value will contribute to achieving your goal to a greater extent. There are many things to achieve in each location, for example they may get useful resources, development cards that represent newly conquered territories, sponsored buildings, influenced characters or encouraged ventures, or they may manage to activate the effects of their cards.

At the same time, you must not ignore the Church, but on the contrary you must make sure that you show your faith, or else you will suffer the consequences.

At the end of the game, the player with the most victory points is the winner.

Lorenzo il Magnifico is a strategy game with worker placement mechanism, where Renaissance nobles compete for magnificence. It is coming out by Cranio Creations, which has brought out some of our favorite games, such as Codenames, Terra Mystica and Through the Ages: A New Story of Civilization.

I got to know the world of board games along with NinjaBoy several years ago. So we both ended up getting hooked on playing, until we finally decided to create this website, so that boardgamers from all over the world will gather around. I am a translator and a copywriter. Making this site, as well as working on it every single day, has been a great experience and we are happy to know that it has brought together people who share the same love for board games. So, choose your character, shuffle your deck and roll your dice, for there are some board game stories here to explore!
