The Morning Roll – Day 31 – Kickstarter Edition

| Your Opinion

Good morning gamers,

Legends Untold is an immersive adventure game inspired by classic RPGs and Choose Your Own Adventure books, where you are a reluctant hero working with a team to battle enemies, overcome obstacles, and upgrade your hero to defeat one of many scenarios the game offers. The main game has a baseline scenario called Weeping Caves, and is a rather affordable pledge. Or you can buy into a second set called The Sewers and it comes with a few extras. Backers seem to love it; the game is already funded and has already gone through all available stretch goals, so the creator is diligently looking to come up with more!

Another card game on Kickstarter now is NEO Miners, a resource management games or 2-4 players. Players are tasked to search for resources from nearby asteroids, and trading those resources for currency, avoiding meteor showers, black holes, and other obstacles in the process. The game is independently designed by Jason Moker, and is currently 32% funded with 12 days to go.

And yet another card game this week with Banishment, which has already been funded. This asymmetrical card game has one gamer playing as a demon doing batter against exorcists, played by the other players. Ritual cards start the game, revealing what the exorcists need to do to banish the demon, before it grows too powerful. Games take an average 15-20 minutes to play.

I’m a little ashamed to admit that I am late to the board gaming bandwagon. I briefly dabbled with RPGs and gave up on video games many moons ago, so board gaming never seemed like an option – until I was introduced to King of Tokyo, my gateway game, and it was all uphill from there! Outside of that, I work in entertainment in the true north, strong and free, and spend my off time embracing fatherhood.
