Madness at Midnight – Who Is Going to Be the Great Cultist?
Madness at Midnight is a game of Lovecraftian horror, in which players control a band of deranged cultists and they fight to summon the Lovecraftian god of their choice. Your goal is to gain 13 victory points through fulfilling sinister plots, completing cult ceremonies and gaining control of key locations in Arkham. Of course, you will have to face the other players, as well as the investigators who roam the streets trying to save the world.
The Action dice are the core of Madness at Midnight. Each player has a set and uses them to move cultists, activate location abilities and initiate fights. Of course, you can reroll but the thing is that you will be able to do it only if your cult is not too mad. This means that the madder your cultists are, the harder it is to make them do exactly what you want and to have the dice results that you need.
You will learn ancient spells at Miskatonic University, gain forbidden lore, acquire mystical items and many more. Furthermore, locations change during the game depending on the moon phases, and new abilities are revealed. So, each game is different and every time you will have to use a different kind of strategy.
If you enjoy Lovecraftian games, then you will definitely enjoy Madness at Midnight, which has just been funded on Kickstarter. Defeat the other cultists and become the greatest and more fearless cult in Arkham, before the investigators manage to reveal your dark truths.
