Pathogenesis – The Bacteria Are Attacking!
In the last few years, games like Virus!, Virus and a whole pile of Pandemic games kept coming, with the whole concept of viruses and diseases getting more and more attention and acceptance. Pathogenesis seems to go a little deeper than that and even add a twist, something that caught my attention immediately.
In Pathogenesis, players take the role of bacterial pathogens attacking the human body! A human body defending itself would make a great co-op game, but in this one you attack the body! As the main mechanic of the game is deck-building, you will have to create a functional deck in order to strengthen your pathogens and attack the body effectively, destroying its defenses. Of course, the immune system is there to give you more than hard time protecting the body. The goal of the game is for the players to meet the game end damage condition before the body declares immunity through two waves of immune cards.
Interestingly enough, the game includes five different game modes; solo, competitive, co-op, team play and classroom.
You can check out the game on Kickstarter, where it has already been funded.
