Spheres of Influence: Struggle for Global Supremacy – How Much Influence Can You Have?
Spheres of Influence: Struggle for Global Supremacy is a wargame in which 8 mighty factions compete against each other in a modern world, in order to gain the greatest influence.
Each faction begins the game by controlling one territory, but of course, the factions will expand during the game.
Each round consists of two phases. The first one is the mobilization phase, during which the factions place their units according to their power. At the same time, the global turn deck is also formed. It determines the turn order and the number of actions for each faction during the following phase. The turn deck is comprised of turn cards from all the factions, which are shuffled and placed face down on the table.
Then, the turn phase follows. The top card of the turn deck is revealed and the faction which owns this card takes turn and performs an action. After this action has been completed, another card is revealed and the same procedure takes place. That means that the factions do not know what the turn order will be. When the last card of the turn deck has been revealed, the round ends and a new one begins.
During the combat, players roll dice and play special cards, so that they have the ability to make attacks with submarines, surround the enemy with their troops or launch nuclear attacks.
When the game ends, the player who has gained control of the most spheres of influence is the winner.
Spheres of Influence: Struggle for Global Supremacy is a strategy wargame, for 2-8 players, with a deep combat resolution mechanic. So, which faction will manage to rise to power and triumph over the rest of the world?
